We are so thrilled that our very own Lovisa Clark took out the Women’s Pro division in her age group at HYROX Melbourne over the weekend with an amazing time of 1:09 – go girl!!

And then she did a sub 60 in the Mixed Pro with hubby Jay with a time of 58:42 – legends!!

Congratulations guys, so proud of both of you.

To all our valued members – the trainers at Coolum Fitness are taking some well deserved time off from the usual Mon-Fri timetable with classes pause between 16th December and resuming as usual on the 6th Jan at 5.30am

Lovisa will be running a couple of pre New Year classes on the 23rd Dec and again on the 30th so if you are in town and keen to work off a few pre Xmas calories be sure to book via the GymMaster app early

HYROX is Coming to Coolum Fitness Sat November 30th – And You Are Invited

HYROX will be running their Physical Fitness Test (PFT) on Saturday Nov 30 (6.30am – 9.30am)

The HYROX Physical Fitness Test (P’F”T) has been designed to give you the perfect introduction to the world of HYROX. It benchmarks your HYROX fitness level on Australian and global leaderboards.

The PFT Workout will be timed and include the following:

* 1,000m Outdoor Run
* 50 Burpee Broad Jumps (90 cm)
* 100 Alternating Forward Lunges (stationary)
* 1,000m Row
* 30 Hand Release Push Ups
* 100 Wall Balls (6kg male / 4 kg female)

The HYROX PFT gives you a good indication of your level and for which division you should sign up to at the major HYROX event

* 15 – 25 minutes – Hyrox PRO
* 25 – 35 minutes – Hyrox Single
* 30 – 45 minutes – Hyrox Doubles

Please note that there are no time caps or qualifications for HYROX, so feel free to sign up to any division that you feel comfortable with and we will support you to the finish line!

The test will be for time and include:

1000m Run

100 Stationary Lunges
1000m Row
30 x Hand Release Pushup
100 x Wallballs (4kg/6kg)

Your results will be recorded in the official HYROX leader board and badges issued based on your results/standings

The team at Coolum Fitness are thrilled to have been nominated as a finalist in this years Sunshine Coast Small Business Awards in the Health & Wellness Division
Next step we face the judging panel with a face-to-face presentation and question time with the 2024 winner being announced at a gala dinner in early November.
We are so proud to be able to showcase our community gym to the whole of the Sunshine Coast – wish us luck! 😀

The Coolum Fitness hybrid training program will train multiple disciplines in a single workout, i.e. resistance training and cardio, to improve strength and endurance simultaneously.
Our classes will include a mix of several short runs (distance will be adjusted based on your individual ability) alternating with up to 4-5 different workouts.

The individual workout stations are:
(1) SkiErg
(2) Sled Push
(3) Sled Pull
(4) Burpee Broad Jumps
(5) Rowing
(6) Farmers Carry
(7) Sandbag Lunges
(8) Wall Balls.

Again the weights/reps and distance will all be adjusted to your ability.
We plan on having a morning and evening class from Monday to Thursday with a Friday & Saturday morning class to follow shortly – the great news is that all these classes will be included in your existing $15.25 per week membership
